Reports have indicated that the earthquake shook buildings and caused power cuts in northern Chile but no reports of damage or casualties have been recieved at this time.

A tsunami warning is in effect for Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Panama and a tsunami watch is in effect for Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. (Source, Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre)

Six people killed, scores more injured and at least 2,600 buildings and 150 boats damaged in the Iquique area. Tsunami recorded with maximum runup height of 2.12metres at Pisagua and maximum wave heights of 87cm at Tocopilla.
