Several landslides were triggered that spilled onto the Joban Expressway, a major roadway stretching along the east coast of Japan and another section of the expressway lifted around 10 metres. Some 830,000 households in the Kanto region and another 90,000 in the Tohoku region were left without power following the earthquake.
