Epicentre is approximately 235 km east of Aberdeen in the Elgin-Franklin field which is located in the Central Graben area of the Central North Sea. Felt by workers on the manned Shearwater Process, Utilities and Quarters (PUQ) platform who reported, "a moderate shaking that woke us up".
