Epicentre is around 15 km WNW of Mandalay and 250 km north of Naypyitaw, the capital of Myanmar. Felt in Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Laos, Thailand and China. Heavy damage to buildings and infrastrtucture has been reported in theMandalay region, over 1700 people have died and thousands more have been injured.
